Robotics and Why Smart is the New Cool

Hi again. Today I thought I would tell you a little bit about the technology side of stuff I do at school. So basically I am in a club called the Innovation Cell. We use EV3 robots and work in groups. Some people might think that robotics is a bit 'nerdy' but they may not realise that 'smart' is the new 'cool'. By the time we finish school, a lot of jobs will involve either working alongside, or programming robots. And technology isn't just for boys. It's lots of fun and gets your brain active. The robot below is called Fifi.

Our robot Fifi
Fifi is not as detailed as some of the EV3s we have. We do learning missions and challenges to exercise our brains and learn about programming. Recently we have been doing the space challenge. Check out the video below showing one of our attempts.

Our attempt at the space challenge.

The next video is from an organisation called Boston Dynamics. Their robots are amazing. Have a look at what this one can do.

Check out this video what a neat robot

Does your school have a robotics or technology club? If so, you should get involved. Here are four great reasons why:

  1. Technology is a great brain exercise and will help you get smarter.
  2. You'll be able to impress people with your cool skills.
  3. You will be gaining knowledge that will help you once you finish school.
  4. You will have lots of fun.

Don't is the new cool, always look for ways to learn new things and use your brain.

  2. That is really neat. I am going into middle school this year and I hope they have a club like this. Your right by the time we graduate from high school a lot of things will be some sort of computer system. Look forward to seeing more of your post. Congrats on being kids blog club star of the week.
